De wonderlijke wereld van een vrouw
is anders dan de wereld van de man
De man die steeds weer winnen wou
Ook als hij niet meer winnen kan
Haar wereld kent vaak andere normen
met zachte krachten, ronde vormen
Veel vrouwen zijn gericht op zorgen
Een kind voelt zich bij haar geborgen
Een vrouw hoeft niet de baas te zijn
Haar concurrentiedrang is klein
Zij houden meer van empathie
en zachte vrouwelijke energie
Vrouwen werken vaak meer samen.

Vrouwen werken veelal liever samen
in plaats van wilde plannen te beramen
hoe een ander onder zich te krijgen
door met macht en kracht te dreigen
Wij leven nu al eeuwenlang
in een wereld waarin macht en dwang
vaak beslissende factoren zijn
op bijna elk maatschappelijk terrein
Is het niet de hoogste tijd
voor vrouwelijke waarden in beleid?
Hoewel vrouwen ook elkaar betwisten
kunnen met hun vrouwelijke listen
Met roddel en met heimelijk venijn
kunnen vrouwen heel vervelend zijn
Meestal drijft een moederlijke liefde
hun verlangens en ambities in de diepte
Meestal houden zij van harmonie
en van zachte vrouwelijke energie
De wonderlijk wereld van een vrouw
is anders dan de wereld van de man
De man die altijd winnen wou
Ook als hij niet meer winnen kan

In een wereld waarin hanen koning kraaien
speculanten en beleggers gretig graaien
zijn er ook uitzonderlijke vrouwen
waarop wij een toekomst kunnen bouwen
In een aantal noordelijke landen
is het hoogste ambt in vrouwenhanden
Het halve volk bestaat uit vrouwen
die in elk geval van kinderen houden
En de kinderen een toekomst gunnen
die wij voor hen maken kunnen
Vrouwen houden zelden van geweld
en beleid dat daartoe overhelt
De hanen zullen gaan verliezen
als de vrouwen hen niet kiezen
Ook in vele turbulente landen

Als de vrouwen gaan ontwaken
zullen andere tijden dagen
Een vredig zacht verlangen
zal de aarde gaan omspannen
Onderdrukkers en tirannen
worden gaandeweg verbannen
Lang vervlogen kinderdromen

Onze zwaar belaagde aarde
wentelt zich in menselijke waarden
die wij met zijn allen mogen eren
Of dat kan zal ons de toekomst leren

Wat zullen er voor kinderen zijn
als de vrouwen ook corrupt zijn
en mannen hen tot voorbeeld zijn?
Wordt hun onschuld omgebracht
als zij meedoen om de macht?

Zijn vrouwen minder onbehouwen?
Samenwerken is de kracht van vrouwen

Mannen kunnen ook niet vrij zijn
als de vrouwen onderdrukt zijn
Halve vrijheid is geen vrijheid
en ongelijkheid geen gerechtigheid
Werpt het niet een schaduw
op het menselijk bewustzijn
als niet alle mensen vrij zijn?
Loka samastha sukhino bhavantu
Moge alle wezens overal gelukkig zijn
Kali, godin van de tijd, de dood en de verandering

Een vrouw brengt vaak
een teder soort van energie
en deze energie brengt vaak
een beter soort van harmonie
Behalve als zij pissig is
of giftig is dan is het mis
De tederheid verdwijnt
en wat er overblijft
klinkt niet verfijnd
wanneer zij kijft
Het voelt als prikkeldraad
dat danig in de weg staat
Een hele andere energie
dan onvolprezen harmonie
Het is de Kali kracht
die onverwacht
de kop op steekt
en harmonie verbreekt
De godin van de tijd
die alles tot een einde leidt
spert haar ogen wijd
en transformeert de tijd
opeens tot eeuwigheid
waar alles in verdwijnt
Als Kali wordt vereerd
wordt zij getransformeerd
Wij worden ons bewust
van een volstrekte rust
De eindigende tijd staat stil
die onderhevig is aan Kali’s wil
Het licht der eeuwigheid
valt op de eindigende tijd
en geeft een zekere tederheid
die tot bedaren leidt
Een glimp van mededogen
verschijnt in Kali’s wijde ogen
die vernietigende krachten
met harmonie verzachten
De destructieve energie
wordt omgevormd tot harmonie
Haar kracht beëindigt strijd
De tijd wordt eeuwigheid
waar alles wat verschijnt
op zijn tijd weer in verdwijnt
Het wordt verzwolgen
door de eindeloze golven
van de eindigende tijd
die overgaat in eeuwigheid
De Goddelijke Moeder
neemt haar rol als Albehoeder
en vult de atmosfeer met harmonie
en vrouwelijke liefdesenergie

As the transforming power of time, Ma Kali can usher us into a new era of global peace and understanding, if we can accept her demand for a real change of consciousness. But we must first let go of our ignorance and arrogance.
Ma Kali is the most misunderstood of all Hindu Goddesses. Though she is often regarded as the most powerful. Ma Kali’s dark and fierce form is certainly intimidating and hard to fathom, unless one is willing to look with discernment behind the veil of the many sensational images about her.
Ma Kali was introduced to the modern world by Ramakrishna Paramahansa as the Supreme Mother of the Universe. Through Ramakrishna… the inspiration of Ma Kali awoke India to its ancient spiritual heritage and brought the unifying message of yoga to the world through his disciple Swami Vivekananda.
This was at a time in which the world was dominated by cruel colonial powers and the idea of the Universal Mother was not accepted – much less a World Mother who was dark in colour and fierce in demeanour from a backward country such as India was viewed to be!
What modern psychologists tell us about Kali often reveals more about their own fascinations with the subconscious mind and its emotional traumas, rather than the Great Goddess who looks over all of us with wisdom and compassion.
Yogic deities are best understood according to meditation practices and the realities of the subtle lokas they reflect. They relate to energies of higher consciousness beyond the vexing dualities of the mind and the primal urges of the body. As such, their appearances are dramatic and paradoxical – mind-blowing as it were, and intentionally so. Only when we go beyond the mind can we directly experience the reality of consciousness and our true cosmic being.
Nature of Ma Kali
Ma Kali is kala shakti or the power of time and eternity. She indicates the impermanence of all things, which is why she wears a garland of skulls. Yet she is also the ultimate transforming power of time, which is to take us from death to immortality. Along with endless time, Kali is boundless space, the limitless void, indicated by her dark blue colour. Her magical dance of transformation is all existence. Her face is infinite space.
Kali holds the vidyut shakti, the lightning or electrical force of consciousness that is the supreme power. All the Goddesses and the entire universe manifests from her indomitable will. Kali’s seed mantra is “kreem,” which is the kriya shakti or power of transformation behind the vast movement of life.
Kali is not the Goddess of death and destruction as some see her but, on the contrary, represents the complete victory of the Divine over all death and destruction. Her warrior Goddess form removes all the illusions of the mind and reveals the undying presence of our inmost Self that is one with all.
Ma Kali as the Yoga Shakti
Ma Kali is the inner power of yoga or Yoga Shakti. Yoga in the true sense is a practice of mergence and return to the Divine source of existence from the peripheral realm of multiplicty. Yoga rests upon nirodha, the full concentration of the mind and dissolution of the ego. Kali is the nirodha shakti, the power of negation, neti-neti, not this, not that, of the Upanishads.
Kundalini Shakti, the secret yogic power of transformation within the subtle body, works through Kali’s grace and motivation. Kundalini ascends and dissolves all the chakras, or energy centres within us, back into the state of pure unity consciousness that is Ma Kali’s ultimate abode in the beyond.
Kali is the Shakti inherent in Shiva as Mahakala, the great lord of eternity. She dances on Shiva in a prone form, showing the Divine life and joy that manifests out of absolute stillness and transcendence that cannot be intimidated by anything. Ma Kali reminds one of Rabindranath Tagore’s verses “Let me carry death in life that I may know life in death.”
Yet, Ma Kali has a crucial social relevance today. Kali as the transforming power of time can usher us into a new era of global peace and understanding, if we can accept her demand for a real change of consciousness. Kali asks us to live for eternity, not merely for fleeting enjoyments or outer material gains. This can be very challenging, if not devastating to our ego desires.
Those seeking to bring the Divine Light into the world should worship Ma Kali to overcome all darkness. Ma Kali as the supreme form of the Universal Mother absorbs her children back into her blissful embrace. She takes us across the deepest darkness to reach the highest light.

Kali – Goddess of Transformation, Destruction and Transcendent Energy
Kali’s archetype is associated with love and protection. She connects us with our power, our strength, and our emotions. She calls us to be alive, juicy, passionate and committed.
Kali is the goddess of life, death, and rebirth, and bring us in touch with the eternal movement and cycles of life. She brings us renovation and transformation, and with her fierce love supports us to let go of old structures and limiting concepts, so that life can start flowing through us again, bringing new energy and capacity to act.
She is the archetype of the wild woman, fully in touch with her emotions and instinctual self. This is the energy and strength that women draws from inside herself in order to give birth, when she needs to roar and bear down, connecting with a raw an inhibited part of herself which is just like the divine mother Earth herself.
Kali is the force of nature that comes to free us from old habits that keep us stuck and no longer serve us, and sometimes she may appear like a thunderstorm shaking everything up and waking us from our sleep. If we are not in touch with her fierce love and are afraid to surrender, she may seem terrifying. And, when we open to her powerful love, she is the mother, she is the lover and she is the ultimate teacher of freedom.
In her iconography, she comes out of the forehead of the goddess Durga, roaring like a thunder, swirling her bloody sword, slicing off the heads of demons. She is an intensely emotional Goddess and can get intoxicated by her emotions and become destructive. Therefore, the process of letting go requires the presence of awareness, which is symbolized by Shiva, her consort, holding and supporting her wild emotional dance with his silent awareness and vast consciousness.
She is the embracing mother that reminds us to love the non-beautiful part of ourselves, the places in our bodies, hearts, and mind, which we tend to hide and reject. And with the loving fire in her eyes, she guides us into our dark places, in order to find the treasures that are hidden in our inner world.
Kali’s fiery dance is a dance of life and love, and in her ecstatic dance she brings everything into manifestation and dissolves it. In the work with Kali we dance wildly and playfully, we open to our emotions with full expression and awareness, when our bodies come alive and our eyes become open and shinning. And mother Kali lovingly ask us questions such as: What are you ready to let go and release? What are you resisting in yourself? What is changing and how do you relate to it? What are you hiding from yourself and others? What are the old habits that keep on repeating in your life? What is opening in you, what is new?
Kali is related to our erotic and ecstatic energy and to our deep longing to let go of control and meet our orgasmic, pleasurable, and creative nature. And she shows us that when we have a sense of orientation, safety and grounding we can allow our wild, natural and emotional energy to express, settle and flow naturally through the river of life.
